Scott Hastings  

Scott is Scotland's most capped center three quarter with 65 caps. He played in 51 Internationals with his brother Gavin and they are the only brothers to have played together in a British Lions Test match. A former captain and full-back with Scottish Schools, out of George Watson's College in Edinburgh, he was first capped for Scotland a month after his 21st birthday in January 1986 against France.

Ever present in the Scotland team for a period of 11 years he captained the Barbarians against the 1993 All Blacks and Captained Scotland at 7 a-side rugby. He retired from playing with Watsonians after 19 seasons and 227 games for the First XV in April 2002 but still retains a role with the club as their commercial and sponsorship director.

Scott previously worked for Platinum One; a sponsorship and events company. As an Account Director, Scott managed the Home of Golf Pavilion for Scottish Enterprise at the last three Open Golf Championships and was Operations Director of the Golden Oldies World Rugby Festival held in Edinburgh in 2008. He is currently a freelance marketing and media consultant and undertakes numerous speaking engagements and motivational seminars for blue chip companies.

Scott continues to be involved in the media and writes the occasional newspaper column. He is also a regular commentator with Sky Sports in their coverage of the Heineken Cup and IRB7's and co-host of STV's Rugby highlights programme on the Magners League.


Dougie Arneil is a former PE teacher and Senior District rubgy player. Dougie served Scottish Rugby for 25 years holding several roles working across almost every aspect of the sport but with clear emphasis on the structures and processes for the recruitment and development of young players and adults to coach them. He developed very positive relationships with clubs, schools, local authorities, other NGB's and Government agencies.

 He continunes to develop his activities in these areas for the benefit of all sports. A member of the IRB Age Grade Committee, he helped set development standards worldwide. Dougie introduced concepts of Child Protection and Equity to Scottish Rugby. On the SSA Board his remit on behalf of all members includes  School Sport, Child Protection and Equity.
